White Fillings (Bondings)

A white filling is a composite resin that is an alternative to silver fillings, crowns and veneers. Composites can be a more affordable option. White fillings can be used to fix broken or decayed teeth but have a shorter life than a crown or veneer. The average life of a white filling is usually four to seven years. While the long-term durability is not as strong as that of other restorations, white fillings look great initially and can be placed in one short appointment.

Crowns

A crown is a porcelain replacement for a broken or decayed tooth structure. This is the most durable and cosmetic option that restores natural chewing function. If a tooth is beyond repair with a filling, this may be the best option to save your tooth.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are an effective method to replace one or several teeth. Each implant consists of a titanium anchor that is placed into the underlying bone and a crown placed on top of the anchor. Implants look and function like natural teeth and they have a success rate greater than 95 percent.

Bridge

A bridge consists of one or more replacement teeth anchored by a crown on each side. This is a permanent, long-term solution to replace missing teeth. The bridge is cemented into a position and is not removable. The bridge acts as your new teeth, closing the gaps and restoring your smile.

Veneers

Veneers are thin, ceramic facings that are bonded to the front of your teeth. Veneers can repair teeth that are discolored, broken down and unsightly, and make them beautiful again. A veneer is similar to a crown but it does not cover the back of your tooth as a crown would do. A veneer has a long life if taken care of properly.

Whitening
Teeth can gradually darken as a result of drinking coffee, tea and red wine. Smoking and aging often cause darkening as well. Whitening your teeth is a safe, inexpensive way to reverse this process. By using custom-fit trays that you wear at home for a few hours a day, your teeth will get whiter and stay whiter. Whitening only works on natural teeth and will not change the shade of crowns, veneers or white fillings.

Dentures and Partials
Dentures are removable replacements for missing teeth. If you are replacing a few teeth, you should consider a partial denture. Partials and dentures may be placed at the time of a tooth extraction if so desired. This immediate partial/denture will require a reline after healing has occurred.

Extractions
Extractions are sometimes necessary to remove hopeless teeth. Dr. Golding does most extractions in the office.

Root Canals
Root canal therapy is the process of removing nerve tissue from inside the tooth. There are many reasons that a tooth may need a root canal. These include, but are not limited to, deep tooth decay that extends into the nerve, cracked teeth, trauma to a tooth or infection inside the tooth. Some of the signs that may indicate the need for a root canal include lingering pain when exposed to hot or cold foods, pain upon biting, a raised pimple on the gum by the tooth and spontaneous pain that may keep you up at night. To preserve the strength of the tooth, it is recommended that a crown be placed after completion of a root canal.

Preventive Care
Regular dental cleanings are essential to maintaining healthy gums and teeth. A dental cleaning and checkup should be done twice yearly. Neglecting your checkups can lead to periodontis, also known as gum disease.

Payment Arrangements
We accept cash, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, Care Credit and checks for payment of services. It is our office policy that the first visit be paid in full at the time of service unless otherwise arranged. The office will accept your insurance after the initial visit. A five-percent discount is offered for all dental services paid in full by cash.  Please remember to bring your insurance card to all appointments. Your deductible and maximum amount of benefits per calendar year can then be established. For extensive treatment plans, payment may be made in phases upon approval.
